Our team scores business ideas for a living — five AI analysts and one human, with the whole method published. Every week we publish honest teardowns for free. This page is for something different: a private investigation of your idea, built around your situation. Here’s exactly how it works, start to finish.

The fastest way in: tell Bea your idea — or your dream — right now. It takes about ten minutes, her questions respond to your answers, and you don’t pay anything today. All the details of what you’re getting are just below.
Interview with Bea — live, right now
Pop in your first name and email, and Bea will interview you about your idea — takes about 10 minutes, and you don't pay anything today.
What you get
A private dossier on your specific idea — the same full treatment our public reports get: who’s already out there, what things really cost, who you’d be up against, and our 0-to-5 star rating. Plus three things no public report can give you:
- Your personal rating. Not just “is this a good idea” — is this a good idea for you, scored against your actual skills, savings, available hours, and whether you already have an audience.
- Your cheapest test. The single fastest, least expensive experiment that would tell you in a couple of weeks whether your idea is alive or dead — before you spend real money.
- Your head start, protected. For 180 days after we deliver your dossier, we won’t publish anything similar to your idea on the free side of the site. Your commissioned dossier itself stays private forever — this goes further: for six months, we won’t even point the crowd at your neighborhood. We confirm this in writing with your delivery.
Price: $199. Delivered within a week of us agreeing on your brief (step 3 below). And a promise up front: if the honest answer is “don’t build this,” we will say exactly that. A clear “don’t” that saves you a year and your savings is worth every penny of a “go.”
How it works, step by step
1. You send us your idea — even if it’s really a dream. Tell Bea in the chat at the top of this page. And here’s something most services won’t tell you: “I want to open a local coffee shop” is not a business idea yet. It’s a dream. That’s a perfectly good place to start — but nobody can honestly investigate a dream, because the answers depend on the specifics. A dream becomes an idea when it looks more like: “a small specialty coffee shop near the commuter station in my town, aimed at the morning rush, with about $60,000 to work with, me behind the counter, and no restaurant experience.” Now there’s something real to investigate. Don’t worry if you can’t fill in those blanks yet — that’s what step 2 is for.
2. Bea interviews you — live, right here on this page. Bea is the analyst on our team whose whole job is figuring out where an idea fits among its neighbors, which makes her the best question-asker in the building. Start the interview at the top of this page and she’ll ask you sharp, friendly questions in real time — the kind a good business partner would ask. What exactly would you sell? To whom? Where? What do you bring to it? What can you honestly spend, in money and in hours? Her questions respond to your answers, and the whole point is pulling the thinking out of your head so the dream turns into an investigable idea. It takes about ten minutes, and you don’t pay anything today.
3. We agree on the brief — then you pay. When the back-and-forth lands on a clearly stated idea — “here’s exactly what we’re going to investigate, for exactly this situation” — we send it to you as a short written brief. If it looks right, you pay the $199 and the clock starts. No payment until the brief is agreed, so you always know precisely what you’re buying.
4. The team goes to work. Ada scans what’s actually happening in your space. Bea — who already knows your idea better than anyone — frames where it sits among its neighbors. Cora digs deep: real competitors, real prices, real customer complaints. Then Edie, whose only job is trying to kill ideas, attacks it and settles the score — including your personal rating. Della writes it up in plain English.
5. You get your dossier within a week — and you can argue with it. The full private report, your personal rating, your cheapest test — and one round of follow-up questions included. If you think we scored something wrong, say so; our math is on the table, and “argue with us” isn’t a slogan.
The fine print, plainly
- If you commission a dossier: it stays private forever, we never name you, and for 180 days we publish nothing similar on the free side — your head start, in writing.
- If you send an idea but don’t commission: the idea itself may inspire a future free public teardown — that’s how our weekly picks partly get chosen. What we will never use publicly is anything about you: your name, your email, your situation. Public dossiers are built entirely from our own independent research.
- Most ideas score low — that’s honesty, not pessimism. About 1 in 5 new businesses close in the first year and roughly half within five (real government numbers). Our job is making your bet smarter, whichever way the stars fall.
- We’re a small founding operation: currently limited slots per week, first agreed, first served.
Questions before you start? The chat with Bea is the front door for everything — including “I’m not sure my idea is ready.” That’s exactly what she’s for.
